• Let's practise (can / can't / must / mustn't)

    Hello everyone,

Today, first, we worked on three exercises: here is the correction of 1 and 2:

         1)    Can, can’t or must ?

    a)    Mum, can I watch television ? = demande de permission

    b)    No, darling, sorry, you can’t [ce n’est pas possible], you must do your homework.

    c)     Mum, can I play now? = demande de permission.

    d)    No, sorry, you can’t (ce n’est pas possible), it’s too late, you must go to bed (obligation).

         2)    Quelles règles faut-il respecter dans un musée?

    a)    You can’t eat or drink.

    b)    You can take photos, but you can’t/mustn’t use the flash.

    c)     You mustn’t touch the paintings or statues.

    d)    And you mustn’t run around...

Then, some of you worked on school rules: invent (normal or strange) school rules in pairs.

Finally, we heard the siren blast out so we gathered in the class and waited for the alert to end.

Just revise can / can't / must / mustn't for next time, please.
