    Today, we started a new "sequence" about the environment.

    Here is what we did:

    SEQUENCE: The environment 

    Our planet, Earth

    Our planet is composed of seventy-five percent of water (oceans, lakes, seas, rivers...), dirt/earth and minerals (rocks...).

    Our major problem today is global warming.

    It is caused by pollution (CO2, air pollution, oil, humans, factories...).

    As a consequence, ice is melting!

    VOCABULARY: 

    -       Fertilizer: des engrais 

           [ai] 

    -       Eroded: érodé (usé par le vent/l’eau) 

    -       Stream banks : les rives (de la rivière) 

     

    OMEWORK: Monday 23rd: learn the lesson and continue the list (words you don’t understand).

    Yesterday, we worked on the beginning of a video.

    What happened 500.000 years ago?

    (five hundred thousand)

    I suppose there were squirrels or dinosaurs on Earth.

    I think/believe/guess/imagine it was the Ice Age.

    Actually, Man/humans appeared.

    Sequence: the environment and global warming

     

    Lesson 1: Our planet

    Its name is Earth. It is composed of seventy percent (70%) of water (seas, oceans, lakes, rivers...) and earth/dirt and minerals (rocks).

    Our major problem today is global warming.

    Indeed, glaciers are melting because of pollution which causes holes in the atmosphere/ozone layer.

    WORD BANK:

    -       Eroded: érodé (usé par l’eau ou le vent)

    -       Storm drain : la bouche d’égout

    -       Stream banks : les rives (rivière)

    -       Leaks : fuites

    -       Sprinkler : jet d’eau/fontaine
