SEQUENCE: The environment 

Our planet, Earth

Our planet is composed of seventy-five percent of water (oceans, lakes, seas, rivers...), dirt/earth and minerals (rocks...).

Our major problem today is global warming.

It is caused by pollution (CO2, air pollution, oil, humans, factories...).

As a consequence, ice is melting!

VOCABULARY: 

-       Fertilizer: des engrais 

       [ai] 

-       Eroded: érodé (usé par le vent/l’eau) 

-       Stream banks : les rives (de la rivière)

Exercise 3:

I’m looking for a semi-detached house wit

h four bedrooms and three bathrooms.

I want to pay one thousand dollars per month ($1.000) and I wouldn’t like to have an old house.

I would like to have a big swimming-pool, a nice fire-place and I would like to live close to work.

Sequence: the environment and global warming

Lesson 1: Our planet

Its name is Earth. It is composed of seventy percent (70%) of water (seas, oceans, lakes, rivers...) and earth/dirt and minerals (rocks).

Our major problem today is global warming.

Indeed, glaciers are melting because of pollution which causes holes in the atmosphere/ozone layer.

WORD BANK:

-       Leaks : fuites
