    Le preterit: pronunciation du “ed”

    Les verbes réguliers se terminent en –ed.

    Il y a trois sons possibles pour ce –ed :

    1) Le son [d] : comme dans « prepared »

     

                                                         [d]

    2) Le son [id] : comme dans « celebrated »

                                                           [id]

    On prononce le « ed » [id] Apres le son [t] ou le son [d]

    3)Le son [t] : comme dans « danced »

                                                     [t]

    -> Si le son final du verbe fait vibrer les cordes

    vocales,  alors on ajoute la prononciation [d]

    Comme dans : prepared

                                  [d] 

    è    Si le son final du verbe ne fait pas vibrer les cordes vocales, alors on ajoute la prononciation [t]

    è    Comme dans : danced
