    Le présent simple:

    -       Phrase affirmative: She likes music. 

    ð Le verbe s’accorde à la 3ème personne du singulier.  

    ð Il prend un –S ou –ES. 

    -       Phrase négative : He doesn’t like music. 

    ð Sujet + auxiliaire + (terminaison s ou es) + négation + base verbale + complément. 

    -       Phrase interrogative :

    Does she like music ?   (mot en WH-)+ AUX+S+BV+Compl?

    What does she like ?

    ð Il y a 2 types de questions:

    è    Les questions fermées (on répond par oui ou non) : Are you shy ? Do you like music ?

    Elles commencent par un auxiliaire.

    è    Les questions ouvertes (on répond par une info) :

    What does she like ?

    Elles commencent par un mot en WH-.

    -       Le « Do » emphatique :

    Il insiste : I do like music.

    Au présent simple, à la 3ème personne du singulier, le verbe prend –S / - ES : She likes music. 

    è    Les phrases négatives :

      S    + Aux+ négation + base verbale + complément.

    è    Les phrases interrogatives / questions :


    Does she like music ?            --->          Question fermée: 

    Aux +  S  + BV + complément ?    on répond oui / non


    What does she like ?              --->         Question ouverte :

    Mary is more hardworking than Emma.

    Rob is as easy-going as Sam.

    c)  Ellie  / -  / impolite   /  Harry.

    Ellie is less impolite than Harry.

    Laura is shier than my sister.

    Correction: Mary is much more polite than her sister, Emma but she is less lazy than her.

    Last time, we used different strategies to guess the meaning of adjectives.

    Here are some definitions we found:

    Patient ≠ impatient

    Responsible ≠ irresponsible

    Honest ≠ dishonest (malhonnête)

    Polite ≠ impolite / rude

    Easily scared (peureux) ≠ bold (courageux)

    Hard-working ≠ lazy

    Stubborn (têtu) ≠ flexible

    Outgoing (ouvert) ≠ shy

     

    Definitions:

    Ø     If you show affection and compassion for other people and help them when they are in trouble you are caring (attentionné). 

    Ø     Someone who is determined to do what they want and doesn’t like to change their mind is stubborn. 

    Ø     Someone who is easily offended, irritated or upset is touchy.
