    Today, we listened to a phone conversation (Jack calling his mother).

    We discovered -ic adjectives and we talked about the superlative as well as experience:

    Phonetics: les adjectifs se terminant en –ic

    Gigantic           – Terrific          – Fantastic

    /dʒaɪˈɡæntɪk/   /təˈrɪfɪk/         /fænˈtæstɪk/

    Lorsqu’un adjectif se termine en –icl’accent se trouve sur l’avant dernière syllabe.

     

    At the end, we discovered dot painting and we'll learn more about this technique next time!

     

    Exercise : Translate in English :

    -       La ville la plus sympa que j’aie visitée.

    -       La plus belle vue que j’aie vue.

     

    -       La façon la plus inhabituelle de peindre avec des pois

    Roles: an estate agent and a couple (or a client)

    Situation: The agent asks questions to the clients. The clients answer the questions and say what they want or would like.

    REVISIONS

    Exercise 1: puzzle: reorganise the words:

    c)   How much do you want to pay? 

    Exercise 2: Find a question corresponding to the answer: 

    a) How many bedrooms and bathrooms would you like to have? We would like to have two bathrooms and three bedrooms.

    c)  How much would you like to pay? We would like to pay $1.400 per month.

    Exercise 3: Translate in English: 

    Hello, I’m looking for a house in England. 

    Quel est votre budget ? What is your budget ? 

    Nous aimerions payer cinquante mille dollars par mois [We would like to pay fifty thousand dollars per month] et nous voudrions avoir dix chambres et huit salles de bain ! [and we would like to have ten bedrooms and eight bathrooms].
